Solar Power - The way forward

Keeping FiT in the new solar landscape

4 July 2012 | IET Birmingham: Austin Court

What is the future of solar power in the UK? Recent events are providing mixed reactions within the industry – positive news that the UK has entered into the list of top 10 solar countries for the first time, combined with uncertainty in reaction to the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) review.

Join us on 4 July for a seminar featuring the Solar Trade Association’s Ray Noble, plus a host of other experts. You will examine a variety of industry perspectives and take part in a high-level technical and strategy debate about the future of the UK solar market with the people at the heart of the industry.

 Highlights of the day include:

  • A keynote session from Alasdair Grainger, Lead-Delivery and Engagement- FiT , DECC, discussing Governmental perspective on the FiT, long term strategy for a sustainable FiT programme and how the industry might deal with uncertainties and challenges
  • How can you remain competitive with the new FiT rates? Ray Noble, PV Specialist, Solar Trade Association shows how analysing PV price models could lead to some answers
  • •Reza Shaybani, Chairman, British Photovoltaic Association, examines the outlook for the UK Solar PV in 2012 and beyond
  • Imperial College London's Professor Keith Barnham gives some international comparisons, using the experiences of Germany, Japan and the USA
  • Take a look at the future, with sessions on the outlook for next generation photovoltaic technology, building integrated photovoltaics and solar PV in the UK
  • A panel discussion on solar storage, led by Solar Media's CEO David Owen
