Homes & Homeowners

The savings that can be made after installing a solar hot water system in your home will be noticed year on year. Unlike central heating systems (space heating), domestic hot water is a constant requirement, with the average home using around 3742 kWh a year (RHI Consultation Document, 2010). A well installed solar thermal system can provide a contribution of between 30-70% of this hot water (if the occupant carefully follows the installer’s advice, higher solar contributions will be obtained), with little need for your boiler during the summer months.

Please see the information on the following links for more details about how a solar thermal system can work for you, including the ‘find a member’ service for member companies of the Solar Trade Association.
