4th July 2017

This year’s Solar Independence Day came off the back of an impressive year for solar, so we wanted to shout from the rooftops about all the lovely independence and joy that solar brings. We asked our friends from far and wide to share their love for solar and solar success stories too.

The day certainly delivered as expected, with #SolarIndependeceDay reaching over 20,000 people, creating some HUGE solar announcements and wonderful solar stories.

In case you missed it, we have compiled our highlights below. Make sure to pencil in 4th July, 2018 in your calenders for next year!

  • Aldi announced they will install a further 11,000 solar panels across more than 50 stores by the end of 2017.
  • AES did their first zero-carbon Solar Installation
  • Octopus Energy customers ran on 100% solar from noon to 1pm
  • A panda-shaped solar farm has just joined the grid in China
